Iñaki, Mikel and Xabier Sanz Larrea carry in their DNA a passion for teamwork, in the winery and vineyard, thanks in part to the example of their father, Antonio, who in 1989 began a personal project. The Riojan winemaker Rafael Reverte also lent them his hand, advising them and discovering for their eyes the value of the land and its privileged characteristics. Thus, in 2007, Viña Zorzal was born with enthusiasm and enthusiasm. Located in the Navarrese municipality of Corella, the Sanz brothers work in the vineyard with organic farming practices, convinced of respect for the environment and the surroundings. Their Chardonnay reference in the 2023 vintage edition, responds to the consideration of village wine, with Fitero, as a location framed for this purpose. Harvested by hand at night, the grapes were naturally pressed and clarified in the winery to obtain the must, which was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Decanting and final bottling. An excellent way of getting to know the virtues of the Chardonnay grape variety. On this occasion and as far as I am concerned, accompanying the succulent reality of a baked sole, with a Bilbao label. Pale yellow glaucous chromatism, clean and bright. Very distinctive nose, with hints of citrus and apple, proustian plum, peach and green almond, some flowers, very fine balsamic notes. Juicy and fresh on the palate, pulpy, tasty. Good acidity, medium glyceric step, arrival and persistence. A praiseworthy vintage edition of a great wine.
